The Segundo Infill Housing Project is a transformative residential development located in the heart of UC Davis’s Segundo neighborhood. Initiated in early 2025, this five-story, 116,000-square-foot facility is designed to accommodate approximately 494 students in double and triple occupancy configurations, with flexibility to house up to 618 students if needed. Strategically situated between Primero Grove and the Regan complex, the project replaces former Parking Lots 16 and 22, optimizing land use to support the university’s commitment to increasing on-campus housing availability.

The residence hall will feature clusters of eight rooms sharing all-gender restrooms, study nooks, lounges, a demonstration kitchen, Zoom rooms, outdoor gathering areas, and ample bike parking to reflect UC Davis’s bike-friendly culture. Designed to be 100% electric, the building aims for a minimum LEED Gold certification, with aspirations for LEED Platinum, aligning with the university’s sustainability goals. The project has been recognized for its innovative approach to student housing design, fostering community and well-being among first-year students.

The Segundo Infill Housing Project aligns with UC Davis’s Long Range Development Plan (LRDP) and its memorandum of understanding with the City of Davis, aiming to house 48% of Davis-based students on campus.
