Senior Project Manager Responsibilities and Duties
  • Implement department objectives to achieve corporate revenue goals and corporate sales goals. Duties includes performing field and plant inspections during the production and placement of asphalt concrete, portland cement concrete, and other construction related material such as oil binder, aggregates, cements, and admixtures. Inspectors will also visit quarries and mine pits to witness material source sampling, stockpiling and testing samples of binders, cement admixtures and other related materials.

Skills & Abilities:
Knowledgeable on the placement, sampling, and testing of materials used in state transportation projects. Knowledgeable of material testing requirements and QA/QC frequencies as they relate to Caltrans Special Provisions, Standard Specifications, and Construction Manual.

Familiarity with weighing and batching equipment. Quality Control Manager (QCM) position entails the implementation, documentation, and execution of the quality control system of construction projects and creating and maintaining a safe work environment. This role includes direct oversight and review of the entire documentation and physical inspection of the work flow process to ensure quality is maintained. The selected student will work on projects in the field, laboratory and assist with design work and environmental projects.  You will be assigned to your leader/mentor who has over 30 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and geology.  You will get the opportunity to learn about significant projects in our marketplace and experience hands tasks you will perform after you graduate.  Our Geotechnical Engineering Manager is Ed Hendrick, RCE, GE, CEG, CG and in addition to his technical experience he has owned his own firm in the past which will provide the opportunity to learn business fundamentals related to running an engineering firm.

We're looking for a Project Manager to fill a critical leadership level position within operations and requires the individual to be client driven as well as a team player.  This individual will support the company vision, manage duties & staff in accordance with company policy and be a proactive team member.  This Project Manager reports to the Vice President.  As a Project Manager, this individual will encourage, mentor and guide field staff assigned to the supervisor.  Success in this position is achieved by integrating and supporting company policy, instilling a team atmosphere, and integrating with peers and management to support team success.  This position requires balancing company, field, client and budget constraints to ensure success of the company.

The Project Manager achieves objectives by implementing efforts focused on winning work, team building, client relationships, mentoring staff, completing action plans; maintaining quality, resolving problems, finding solutions and embracing change.

Project Manager Responsibilities and Duties:

Work with marketing to pursue and win work within the Redding/Yreka region. Marketing staff will assist in issuing proposals, track projects in support of the office and developing required marketing materials. The Project Manager will be responsible for achieving revenue goals for the office.

Implements department objectives to achieve compliance with required services, works to meet project budget constraints, provides support and training for assigned staff, and maintains strong relationships with clients. These areas of influence are part of the company culture that must be adhered to by field staff, supervisors, managers and owners of the company.

Accomplishes success in the position by embracing company goals, working with other departments, inspiring assigned staff and driving for positive relationships with peers, coworkers, clients, assigned staff and senior management.

Supervision of staff includes evaluating assigned staff capabilities including technical, report writing, review of contract documents, understanding of the building code, interaction with contractors, support of client objectives and adherence to company policies.

EXCELLENT communication and team supporting skills including adherence to company policy and a strong emphasis on client relationships.

Team player, organized, solid supervisory skills and result driven. Able to promote company culture in a team environment.

Career Possibilities:
